Frequently asked Questions

Firstly, a series of questions to understand your condition and what you would like to achieve from your physiotherapy. This will be followed by an assessment of your physical capabilities such as strength and balance, in relation to your goals. This will form the basis of your treatment plan.

Treatment will be started on the first visit.

Your initial assessment session will last 1 hour, with subsequent follow-up appointments lasting 45 minutes.

If shorter sessions are needed then this can be discussed. This will be dependent upon patient condition and location.

Please wear any comfortable clothing that enables you to move freely.

Treatment is generally performed without removing patient clothing, though assessment may require the partial removal of some garments. For example, trousers may be rolled-up to observe a patient’s knee.

Patient consent is sought on every occasion, and friends or family members are always welcome to be present.

Most exercise plans do not require specialist equipment, although I may bring specific items to enhance treatment. For example, foam balance cushions. If equipment is needed by the patient, I will be happy to discuss and advise.

I accept cash, cheque or card payments, including contactless, payable directly after each treatment session.

I do not accept payment directly from any medical insurers. Payment is in-person only and receipts will be issued for every payment received.

Please contact me by telephone or email at least 24 hours in advance.

Please note that the appointment fee may be payable if less than 24 hours notice is given.

There is an online consent form, found on my contact page, which can be completed in advance to save time in the initial assessment.

I am based in St Albans and will drive up to 20 minutes beyond St Albans to visit patients. Please get in contact with me if you are unsure whether your location is covered.

I am registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC, registration number PH53210) as well as being a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (membership number 058982).
